A client told me my extractions were too rough and it stuck with me
She said, 'It feels like you're fighting my skin,' after a facial about two months ago. I realized I was rushing through that step to stay on schedule. Now I take an extra five minutes per client, use way less pressure, and my rebooking rate has gone up. Has anyone else had a piece of feedback that made you slow down and change your technique?

Oh man, "fighting my skin" is such a clear way to put it. My friend who does massage had a client say they felt "processed like a factory part" because she was rushing. She said it made her totally change how she starts each session, just taking a quiet minute to focus before even touching them.

Yeah, that kind of feedback really hits home. Did you find that slowing down actually made the extractions more effective too? I had to learn that pressing harder just makes the skin angry and doesn't get more out. Now I check in with clients more often about pressure, and it makes the whole step feel more like teamwork. That five minutes you added is probably the best change you could make.
