I finally bought a proper torque wrench for the governor rope sheave bolts
Cost me about $350 for a good digital one, but it saved a job in a high rise downtown. The old spec sheet called for 65 foot pounds, and my old click type was off by almost 10. Has anyone else found their old tools just aren't cutting it for the newer, tighter tolerances?

Ten pounds off on a rope sheave? That's asking for a real bad day.

Ten pounds off on a rope sheave seems like it wouldn't be a huge deal... what actually happens?

Actually, ten pounds can mess up the whole system's balance. That extra slack creates way more wear and tear over time. It's a bigger deal than it sounds at first.
