That 2007 iMac logic board capacitor hunt took me a solid 8 hours
It was a single bulged 1000uF cap hiding under a heatsink bracket, and the schematics online were wrong. Anyone else run into that specific revision of the A1224 board?

Man, don't even get me started on bad schematics. I spent a whole weekend once tracing a dead short on an old MacBook board because the PDF I had showed the wrong component location. It's such a massive waste of time when you're already deep into a repair. You finally find the right spot and it's just this tiny, stupid cap that blew. That feeling of relief mixed with pure annoyance is something else.

What really gets me is how those bad schematics get out there in the first place. Like, was it an early draft someone uploaded as final? A different board revision that got mislabeled? I had a similar thing with an old TV board where the service manual showed a resistor network in the wrong spot. You end up second guessing your own work, which is the worst part.
