Update on that old theater rewire in Springfield
We had to pull new circuits for the stage lights in a 1920s building, and the existing conduit was packed with old cloth wire that just crumbled. My boss had the idea to use a shop vac with a long hose taped to a fish tape to suck a pull string through first. It worked on the third try and saved us a full day of cutting into plaster. Anyone ever used a vacuum trick like that on a really tough pull?

Ever think that was a hack? I used to call it a dumb idea until I saw it save a job. Totally changed my mind.

Wait, it actually saved someone's job? I mean, I've seen some wild workarounds before but that's a whole new level. What kind of situation was it even?
