Finally realized why my corner beads kept peeling after 7 years doing this

Turns out I was using nails instead of screws to fasten them and the nails popped from humidity every single time, now I'm kicking myself for all those callbacks - did anyone else have a similar 'duh' moment with a basic thing that took way too long to figure out?

I used to swear by hot glue for baseboard returns until I had a whole house call back in 2018 where every single one had popped off by winter. Switched to construction adhesive and a pin nailer after that and felt like an idiot for not trying it sooner. Sometimes you just get stuck in a routine and don't question it until the work comes back to bite you.

Read something similar on a carpentry forum last week, that pins hold way better than glue alone.
