The cleaning ritual that ate my whole Sunday afternoon
Last week I sat down to deep clean my Arizer Solo 2 stems with iso and salt, just like I always do. Three hours later I was still scraping at the inside of one damn stem with a pipe cleaner because there was this baked-on ring near the mouthpiece that would NOT budge. Tried hot milk, tried shaking it in a bag with salt, nothing worked until I just left it soaking in 99% iso overnight and woke up to it clean. Anyone else ever had a stubborn ring that took way longer than expected to dissolve?

Straight up, you gotta watch your water quality. That ring near the mouthpiece might not be pure resin, but mineral deposits from hard water mixing with the oil. Happens way more in places with tap water that's full of calcium and lime. Try switching to distilled water for your next soak or even just for the rinse cycle. The iso will strip the oily stuff, but those minerals basically turn into a rock layer that laughs at salt and shaking. Overnight soak is the only thing that softened it because the iso slowly breaks down those mineral bonds.

Wait, @the_anna, distilled water actually makes a difference for cleaning pieces??
