Hit 50 gallons of water in my bilge last night and finally fixed the leak

Honestly, I've been chasing this drip for weeks and just assumed it was nothing big. Then yesterday I checked the bilge pump counter and saw it hit 50 gallons pumped in under 8 hours. Found the leak was a cracked hose clamp on the freshwater line near the stern. Replaced it with a $2 stainless clamp from the hardware store and now the pump hasn't kicked on once. Anyone else ever ignore a small leak until the numbers scare them straight?

Nope, you're not alone. That pump counter is a real wake-up call. Glad it was a cheap fix.

My buddy Dave had this same thing happen on his 2005 Grady White. He kept hearing a tiny tick noise from the bilge pump but figured it was just a loose wire or something. Next thing he knows, his automatic bilge pump was running every 45 minutes for like three days straight. Turned out to be a cracked elbow fitting on the livewell drain, cost him 7 bucks at West Marine and a half hour of cursing. He said the pump counter hitting 60 gallons was what finally got him to actually look under the deck instead of just listening to it.
