My current site is by a busy walking trail

Site is next to a popular trail. Folks gather to see the dredge. How do you keep them back safely?

What kind of dredge is it? I had a SIMILAR problem when folks crowded around our worksite near a bike path. We got some sturdy plastic barriers and it made a HUGE difference. Bright colors like orange or yellow really catch the eye and keep people at a safe distance. You could also mark a clear line on the ground with tape or cones for where to stand. Having a simple sign that says "Please Stay Back" works wonders too. It's all about making the safe spot obvious without being too mean about it.

Man, that's SO true! @sagesingh, you hit the nail on the head with the bright colors idea. People just don't notice dangers sometimes, and visual cues are CRUCIAL for safety. I've seen similar setups where plastic barriers and signs made a HUGE difference in crowd control. It's all about keeping everyone safe without causing any friction. Making the safe spot obvious is honestly a GAME CHANGER in these situations.

Actually saw a job last year where bright orange barriers caused more problems than they solved. People started using them as leaning posts and selfie spots, which put them even closer to the equipment. Sometimes too much visual noise just becomes part of the background. A simple verbal heads up from a crew member can work better than a sea of plastic.
