Had to speak up when the foreman skipped the pre-dredge inspection

Last shift, the foreman told us to start pumping without checking the suction lines. I knew it was wrong because we found debris in them last week. When I pointed it out, he got annoyed but let us check. Sure enough, there was a clog that could have burned out the pump. Don't let pressure from above make you cut corners.

Exactly, that shortcut thinking always costs more later.

Yeah exactly. This stuff happens everywhere, not just on dredge sites. It's that same dumb rush to skip steps to save five minutes that wrecks stuff later. I see it with my landlord half-assing repairs, or at the store when they don't check dates on food. That clog would have cost way more time and money than the inspection. Good on you for not just going along with it.
