Honestly, the worst drafting week of my life was last month in Denver

Tbh, I was working on a huge site plan for a new park, and my main workstation just died on a Tuesday. I had to finish the whole thing on my old laptop, which runs CAD like it's walking through mud. Ngl, I spent three days just fighting with line weights and layer crashes. Has anyone else had to finish a big job on backup gear that just wasn't up to it?

Honestly, that backup gear struggle is a good test of your core skills. Working with slow tools forces you to plan better and be more efficient. It's not a total loss if you learn to work leaner.

Oh man, I feel that. My backup is this old tablet that heats up like a griddle if you open more than two PDFs. I once had to mark up a full set of construction drawings on it, and the lag was so bad my redlines looked like a toddler's scribble. The client probably thought I was having a stroke. You just have to laugh or you'll cry.
