Appreciation post: My old drafting table saved me during a power outage

Lost power in the studio. Had to finish sketches by hand on my trusty table.

Back in the 2018 ice storm, my drafting table was the only thing that kept me going. I finished a set of house plans by lantern light over two long nights. There's a real peace in using tools that don't depend on a plug. That old table just sat there, steady and ready, when every screen went dark.

So the table ran on pure spite instead of electricity? Love how our fancy tech fails and we end up relying on the thing that's basically fancy plywood on legs. Guess it's time to thank the old gear for not needing a charger. Bet your sketches came out better without the computer crashing every five minutes too.

Nah @anna_roberts8, gotta disagree on this one. Tech fails sure, but calling a table just plywood misses how much the digital tools actually help. Those crashes force you to save all the time, which saves your work more than paper ever could. Analog stuff is cool but it has its own limits that can wreck a project just as fast. The sweet spot is using both instead of acting like one is clearly better.
