My dog ate half the felt hat, but the hot glue version still won the vet's office costume contest
I picked between a fabric hat with stitching and a felt hat with hot glue for my pug's Sherlock look, went with hot glue, and after he chewed off one ear mid-October I patched it in 4 minutes flat, the judge even laughed, has anyone else had a pet destroy their costume mid-event and somehow improve it?

Wait, did the hot glue hold up better than the stitching would have? Because I had a cat that once ripped the tail off my labrador's shark costume right before the parade, and I swear that thing looked better with just the stub, like a tiny torpedo. Ended up winning "most creative" at the block party, and the cat spent the rest of the night trying to eat the glue I used to fix it. Honestly, I think pets have a weird sixth sense for knowing exactly when to sabotage something to make it more charming, like they're little chaotic art directors.

And honestly, hot glue holds up way better than stitching for most pet costumes, but the trick is let it fully dry before letting the animal near it, otherwise they'll sniff it out and chew it off again. Did your cat ever actually swallow any of it, or did he just give up after the first taste test?
