inI thought that new click-lock vinyl plank was just a gimmick until a job in Tacoma last month
That mallet's junk, mine broke on the first real job.

inVent: I was hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains last weekend and saw a huge oak with about 20 climbing anchors drilled into it.
Did you happen to notice if there were any signs of rot or fungus around the drill holes? I've seen a few trees in my local park that got really sick after people put in bolts and the wounds never sealed right, the bark just started peeling back. Makes me wonder if the climbing groups that use these spots have any rules about checking the trees first.

inWalked through a new condo building in Phoenix and the panel layouts are a mess
Remember my buddy's panel in his garage? The mice chewed through the wires last winter.

inI thought the 'learn to code in 24 hours' book my uncle gave me was total junk, but after forcing myself through the first 3 chapters, I actually built a simple website for my mom's bakery.
Learn to code in 24 hours" sounds like one of those infomercial scams. I totally get writing it off as junk. But hey, if it got you to actually build something that works, maybe the joke's on us for being too snobby about it. Sometimes the cheesy, simple stuff just gets you moving when the fancy textbooks don't.

inMy girlfriend's birthday surprise turned into a plant rescue mission
I mean, I get what you're saying about not wanting a dying project on your windowsill, @jadeg81. I read this thing once about how some people really like the process of trying to keep a plant alive, like it's part of the fun. Maybe it's just me but bringing a plant home feels different than just looking at it, you know? It's like you have a little piece of the trip. Sure they might die, but idk, I don't mind the work.
