Fixed my wonky fence gate with a $5 hinge shim kit

My gate was dragging on the ground for months and I kept putting off fixing it because I thought I'd need to dig up the post. Grabbed a pack of nylon hinge shims from Home Depot for $5 and stacked two of them on the top hinge. Gate swings perfect now, has anyone else used these things for other door problems?

Hold on, you fixed a gate sag with just a $5 shim kit? That's wild, I always figured you'd have to dig up the whole post for that.

Heard a story from my buddy Mike who tried that exact thing with his garden gate. He picked up a shim kit at the hardware store for like 6 bucks and it saved him a whole weekend of digging. The trick was loosening the hinge screws a tiny bit and shoving the shims in behind them, then tightening everything back up solid like a new gate. @karenw23 proved it right, you don't always need a jackhammer for these jobs, just a bit of patience and a cheap fix.
