Ethernet over powerline, I was wrong about it for 3 years

My basement office always had terrible wifi, so I kept buying better routers and extenders, wasted maybe $200 total since 2021. Then my buddy brought over his powerline adapter kit and we plugged one in the living room and one down here, and suddenly I got 180 Mbps where I used to get 15. Has anyone else had good luck with these after giving up on mesh systems?

Wait, is your basement made of concrete or something? I had the opposite issue where my kitchen was a dead zone for years, so I gave up and ran a 50 foot cable through the hallway, tripping over it constantly. Then my cat started using it as a scratching post and chewed through it, so I tried a powerline kit out of desperation. It worked fine, but then my neighbor's washer would kick on and my connection would drop every single time, like clockwork. I swear I could hear the spin cycle and feel my lag spike in games at the exact same moment. Ended up just moving my router to the kitchen and eating the bad wifi in the bedroom, lol.
