Stop using compressed air on fan cleaning - learned the hard way last month
I blew out my PS4 Pro fan with compressed air like I've done a dozen times. This time a bearing went bad after 2 days and the fan started grinding at 3000 rpm. Turns out the canned air spins the fan way faster than it's rated for and can burn out the motor. I had to order a replacement fan for $15 on Amazon and spent 45 minutes swapping it. Has anyone else killed a console fan with compressed air or am I just unlucky?

Ay dios mio, this is 100% a thing. I learned the same lesson with my old PS4 like a dumbass. I literally blew out the fan so hard it sounded like a jet engine trying to take off and then just...died. I even tried the old "stick a toothpick in the blades" trick to hold them still but nope, too late. Had to buy the same $15 replacement and felt like a clown for 45 minutes of sweating over tiny screws. You're not alone friend, we're all part of the "killed it with canned air" club now.

Yeah, the "toothpick trick" part is what got me @the_sean. I always thought canned air was foolproof until I read about the bearing issue here. I used to just blast my old laptop's fan without even thinking about it. Now I'm paranoid I already wrecked something without knowing.
