Customer's comment about my noisy fan made me actually clean it

Guy dropped off his PS4 for a disc read issue and said 'sounds like a jet taking off every time I turn it on.' I'd been ignoring the dust buildup for over a year because it still worked, but after he said that I popped it open and found a solid mat of crap on the heat sink, took me 20 minutes with some canned air and a brush. Have you ever had a customer point out something obvious you were missing on your own console?

Honestly the real lesson here is that noise is your console telling you something, and we all just tune it out until it gets embarrassing. A jet engine sound is basically the system screaming for help, but we treat it like background radiation. That customer basically did you a favor, you just had to hear it from someone else first.
