That 2-week wait for a decision was killing me until I called the San Diego office directly

I had my claim sitting in 'review' for almost 3 months after submitting everything in January. I tried the online portal and got nowhere. Then I called the San Diego claims office and asked for a supervisor by name - turns out a nurse reviewer needed a single lab report that my doctor never sent, but nobody told me. I faxed it over that same day and got approved 4 days later. Has anyone else had luck just calling and asking for a specific person instead of the general line?

Did you just ask for the supervisor or use a name?

Wait, did you have to ask for a specific person or just say "supervisor"? I actually had a similar thing happen but with a different office entirely. I was waiting on a decision for my wife's claim and after two months I called the regional office in Phoenix. I asked for the claims examiner by name that was listed on her initial paperwork, and the lady at the front desk actually transferred me right to her voicemail. Left a message and she called me back the next morning, said she was waiting on a doctor's note that was never uploaded. After that one phone call it was approved in like a week. I swear, sometimes you just gotta find the right person instead of the automated system.
