Rant: I used to book monthly Airbnbs, now I'm all about the 3-month lease
For the first two years, I'd lock in a fancy Airbnb for a month at a time, paying around $1800 in places like Lisbon. It felt flexible, but the constant moving and search fees killed me. Last year in Medellin, I got a local sim, walked a neighborhood I liked, and signed a basic 3-month lease for $900 a month. The paperwork was a headache, but the stability and cash saved changed the game. Is the short-term rental convenience really worth double the cost for you guys?

My buddy did the Airbnb thing in Mexico City. Spent a fortune on a tiny studio. Saw a sign in a cafe window for a six month lease, called the number. Landlord just wanted a deposit and the first month. Place was twice the size for half the cost. @wyatt771 is right, it's a total game changer if you can handle the local paperwork.
