A week in Medellin that almost broke my routine, then fixed it
Last month I spent 7 days in Medellin and my usual coworking spot had a power outage on Tuesday, so I ended up at this tiny cafe in Laureles for 3 days straight. The wifi was faster than any place I've paid for, and the owner let me plug into a wall outlet near the kitchen. It made me realize I've been overpaying for those fancy spaces when a local spot with good coffee does the job for like $4 a day. Has anyone else found better luck just wandering into random cafes instead of booking ahead?

My buddy Dave had the same thing happen in Bangkok last year. He got kicked out of his hostel for three days and just worked from a random noodle shop that had surprisingly solid internet. He ended up saving like $60 and still talks about that place more than any coworking spot he's ever used.
