Spent 2 years flattening my digital paintings with a bad brush setting
I was working on a piece for a client last Tuesday and kept fighting with how muddy my colors looked. Finally zoomed way in and realized my brush pressure sensitivity was set to 0% opacity variance the whole time. Every layer was just flat and dead because I never checked that one dropdown. Has anyone else spent months on a dumb setting mistake before catching it?

Bro that "just thought I was bad at blending" part hits so hard. I wasted a whole year on a project where my layer opacity was stuck at 50% and I just thought I sucked at lighting. It's wild how we blame ourselves instead of checking the dumbest settings first. The worst part is when you finally fix it and realize how much time you wasted. Makes you want to throw your tablet out the window honestly.

Ngl that is brutal but also super relatable. I had a similar thing happen with my tablet driver where my pressure curve was stuck on some weird jagged line for like six months and I just thought I was bad at blending.
