inBought a 'for parts' PS3 that just needed a new thermal paste job...
Bringing a power strip is a solid move, but it only tells you if it gets power. You really need to check the voltage with a meter to know what's actually working. Buying for parts is always a gamble on a total brick.

inTrying to get crispy tofu in my air fryer wasted a whole evening
@angelaellis did you ever try making it again or was that one kitchen disaster enough to swear off homemade seitan for good?

inAppreciation post: My $40 screen protector just saved my Wacom Cintiq from a coffee disaster
Thank the tech gods for screen protectors, seriously. Did the exact same thing with a glass of red wine near my laptop, my heart just STOPPED. That beading thing is a miracle. I've been using the same brand for years now and just buy a two-pack every time.

inPSA: The week we had three separate AOG calls for the same type of landing gear sensor
Man, that's the universe telling you to check the harness first. Seen it a dozen times. You get a sensor code, swap the sensor, and the fault comes right back. On that King Air, the bundle was rubbing on a hydraulic line bracket. A little chafing sleeve and a zip tie to reroute it fixed it for good. Always trace the wires before you order the part.

inMy dad said to always ask for the full story before giving advice
Listen to your uncle. Giving a clear answer first builds trust. Then you can ask one or two questions to check the context. Most people just want to know what to do next, not hear a list of possibilities. Overcomplicating it makes them doubt your answer and their own choice. Keep it simple, then adjust if needed.
