Warning: Heard a guy at the truck stop in Billings say he never uses a torque wrench on injectors...

Said he just goes by feel after 20 years. I always use my 1/2-inch Snap-on digital wrench and follow the spec sheet. Has anyone else run into this mindset on the road?

That Snap-on digital torque wrench is probably worth more than my first truck. I watched a guy strip the threads clean out of a cylinder head doing the "feel" method last year. He ended up needing a whole new head because the helicoil wouldn't hold. How do you even sleep at night knowing you might have left a thousand pounds of force on the table?

My buddy did that on a crank bolt, @elizabeth_williams. Cost him the whole bottom end.
