Took apart a DT466 injector in a parking lot near Boise and found a chunk of carbon wedged in the pintle
I was dead on the side of I-84 with a miss so bad it shook the mirrors off alignment, so I pulled the injectors on the tailgate. Popped that nozzle open with a dental pick and sure enough a little black rock fell out, truck fired right up after reassembly. Has anyone else found random trash fouling their injectors, or am I just lucky?

Gotta disagree... carbon chunks are just normal wear, not trash.

84 miles outside Boise and I swear that chunk of carbon was the size of a pea, like the engine decided to pack a little souvenir from some bad fuel stop. Lucky you didn't have to call a tow truck and drop a grand on a shop to pull the same trick with a dental pick and some patience. My buddy found a piece of plastic wrapper in his 6.0 once, still have no idea how that made it past the filters. Bet that truck ran smoother than a politician's lie after you cleared it out though. Guess that's just the 466 way of telling you it appreciates the roadside attention.
