A lead tech in Abilene told me to quit guessing at injector timing and use a dial indicator
I used to set injector timing by ear and feel on the old 12 valve motors, and I thought I had it down pretty good. Then a lead tech named Ray watched me do one in Abilene and said flat out, "You're off by about 2 degrees every time, that's why it smokes cold." I bought a cheap dial indicator setup the next day and started checking every pump I touched, and he was right, I was consistently off. Now I want to know, do you guys still eyeball it on certain motors or do you break out the indicator every time?
