Question about flashlight tint after my last hike

I ran a comparison last month with three lights in the same lumen range and found the 'neutral white' 4500K actually made trail markers harder to see against dead grass than a cheap 3000K one I had. Read it in a forum post from a guy who does night orienteering, then tested it myself. Anyone else notice the industry pushing numbers over actual visibility outdoors?

Heck yeah, I've been saying this for years! The numbers look good on paper but they don't tell you how a light picks up wet leaves or pine needles after rain. We need more field tests like that night orienteering guy did, not just more charts.
