Lost my work bag for a week and survived on a plastic grocery sack

Last Monday I left my Osprey backpack on the subway and didn't realize until I got to the office. Spent the whole week carrying my laptop charger, lunch, and notebook in a ripped plastic bag from the bodega. Anyone else ever lose their EDC bag and find out you don't actually need half the stuff you carry?

Man, I gotta push back a little on calling that a "plastic grocery sack" from the bodega. Around here, those flimsy things are practically tissue paper with handles. They rip if you look at them wrong, especially with a laptop charger digging in. I lost my old JanSport once and had to carry my stuff in one of those reusable Target bags that folds into a little pouch. Still kept way more than I needed, though. You're definitely right about the extra stuff. Half my bag is just "what if" items that never get touched.
