Overheard a guy at the coffee shop bragging about his 'easy to remember' password
I was grabbing a coffee yesterday and the guy next to me was telling his friend his password was his dog's name and his birthday, like 'Buddy2005'. He said it was easy for him to remember. It made me stop and think, because that's exactly the kind of thing a hacker could find on social media. I realized a lot of people probably do the same thing without knowing the risk. Has anyone found a good way to make strong passwords that you can actually remember?

Yeah, I've been that guy before. My old password was basically my whole life story. Using a passphrase with a few random words and a number is way easier to remember than you'd think.

Totally agree on the passphrase thing. I read that using a few random words is way stronger than a single complicated password.

My bank finally made me switch to a passphrase last month. It's funny how we all used to create these impossible codes with symbols and capital letters. Now the best practice is just stringing together simple words like "blue coffee truck rain." It feels backwards but it actually works better. I guess a lot of security advice is like that, where the simpler solution ends up being stronger.
