My regular at the bar told me he got a text from 'me' asking for money after I posted a picture from our work softball game on Facebook last month.

Honestly, it freaked me out enough that I went and made all my social media stuff private and turned off location tags, but is that really enough to stop someone from copying my photos and info?

Turning off location tags is smart, but copying photos doesn't need that data. They just save the picture you posted. Making things private is the main step that actually helps.

Tbh, that's so creepy it makes me want to delete everything. @jana_davis90 is right about the photo thing, they just grab what's there. Honestly, it reminds me of when my cousin's vacation pics got used for a fake dating profile. The person had copied her whole friend list too and messaged people. It took her weeks to get it all reported and taken down. Making stuff private helps a ton, but once a picture is out there, it's pretty much out there.
