My password manager autofill failed during a Zoom screen share last week
I was walking a client through setting up their new business email on a Zoom call and my Bitwarden autofill popped up with my personal banking password right on screen. Luckily nobody saw it long enough to read it, but my heart stopped for a second. I had to quickly minimize the window and pretend I was showing something else. I ended up disabling autofill entirely and now I just copy-paste manually from the vault. Has anyone else had a close call like this with their password manager on a video call?

Switched to a separate password manager just for work accounts after my personal 1password vault popped up during a client demo. Now I keep two browser profiles - one for work, one for personal stuff. Bit of a hassle but beats the alternative.

my heart stopped for a second" - yeah I get that feeling but I think you're overreacting a bit here. This is on you for having autofill enabled on a screen share, not on Bitwarden or password managers in general. I've been using one for years and never had this happen because I know to mute my screen share or close sensitive tabs before showing anything. Disabling autofill entirely is like taking the battery out of your smoke detector because you burnt toast once. You're making your life harder for no good reason. Just be more careful about what's on your screen before you start sharing, same way you'd close your email or bank tabs.

The whole separate profiles thing reminds me of when I tried keeping work and personal bookmarks in different browsers and ended up accidentally opening my personal Facebook on a work computer during a meeting. Nobody said anything but I still think about it sometimes.
