Pro tip: I swore by character prompts, but setting prompts unlocked my stories
I always thought the best stories came from deep characters first... but I kept stalling out. Then, on a whim, I tried a prompt focused solely on a location, like an abandoned library. The details of the place made me ask who would be there and why... That simple shift broke my block wide open. Now I start with settings more often than not.

My buddy Mike was stuck on a script for months. He finally just wrote about a foggy bus station at 3am, the broken vending machine glowing. That detail made him ask what kind of person would be buying a soda there, and the whole plot just clicked into place from that one image.
