When a client brings in a photo from a filter and expects real life results
Filters aren't something I can copy with scissors and color.

Read an article about plastic surgeons seeing this all the time now. It's a whole new kind of digital fantasy people want.

I was in line at the bakery yesterday and overheard two teens talking about how "weird" their own faces looked without a smoothing filter. It really hit me how deep this goes, @tessa465. We're not just comparing ourselves to edited photos anymore, we're comparing our real skin to a live, moving fantasy version of ourselves. It sets up this impossible standard that nothing in the physical world can match (not surgery, not makeup, not lighting). Makes you wonder what it does to a person's brain over time, always feeling like the real you is the wrong version.

Saw that article too. @tessa465 is right, it's wild. Had a client show me a filtered hair color yesterday and get mad when I said hair doesn't glow like that.
