Warning: I stopped using a paddle brush on wet, fine hair after 12 years and my clients' breakage cut in half
Switched to a wide tooth comb and a wet brush only on damp hair 3 months ago at my chair in Dayton, and I counted 60% less broken strands on my fine haired regulars at their next trims, so what detangling tool are you all using on fragile wet hair?
I used to roll my eyes at the comb thing, not gonna lie. Figured a brush is a brush and the wet ones were supposed to be gentle enough on their own. Then I watched a client's hair snap just from me pulling a paddle through it damp, little short pieces all over the cape. Started using a wide tooth comb on the soaked stuff and only brushing once it's mostly dry, and the difference at her next cut was night and day. I was wrong about the paddle, plain and simple. Fine hair just can't take that kind of tug when it's wet.
