Finally compared round vs flat brushes for blowouts on my curly clients

I always used round brushes for blowouts because that's what I learned in school. But last week I tried a flat paddle brush on my 3B curl client Sarah and the difference was night and day. The flat brush got way smoother results with less tension and pulling, and her hair dried 15 minutes faster. Has anyone else switched up their brushing tools for certain curl patterns?

Oh yeah, flat brushes are honestly way gentler on my curly clients too.

My work wife swears by flat brushes for her 3b hair and now I feel bad for all the times I handed her a round one lmao. She'd be sitting there for 45 minutes trying to get through it and I thought it was just normal. Fifteen minutes faster drying time is honestly life changing for anyone with tight curls, my hands hurt just thinking about the old way. I tried a flat brush on some 4c hair once and it was like magic compared to the struggle with a round one. Guess I need to apologize to every curly client from like 2019 onward lol.

15 minutes faster drying time is huge. My hands get tired with round brushes on tight curls honestly.

@troyp37 hit it right, flat brushes are way easier on curls.
