I was reading a deposition transcript from a case about a stolen smoothie recipe and the lawyer asked about the 'texture of the mango chunks' for 45 straight pages.

Honestly, that kind of hyper-focus on a tiny detail feels like modern life in a nutshell. We get stuck arguing about the texture of the mango chunks while the whole smoothie business is on fire. It happens in office meetings, family group chats, everything. The real issue gets lost because someone won't let go of one small, weird point.

You know, that "whole smoothie business is on fire" line from @diana_flores25 is a great image... but I see it a bit different. It's not that the real issue gets lost. Sometimes that tiny detail is the issue. Like, if the recipe was stolen, proving they copied the exact mango chunk texture could be the whole case. My cousin works in a bakery and a lawsuit literally hinged on the specific crunch of a streusel topping. The small point is often the proof.
