I finally stopped believing every moon landing conspiracy after seeing a telescope setup in Tucson
Used to be deep into the hoax theories for years, thought the flags waving proved it was fake. Then I went to an astronomy club meetup last September in Tucson and watched a guy with a 20 inch Dobsonian pull up lunar landing site coordinates. He pointed out the exact spots where the Apollo modules set down based on NASA data. That session changed my thinking more than any online debate ever did. Anyone else have a real world experience that shifted their stance on a big conspiracy?

No chance, a 20 inch Dobsonian can actually resolve the landing site debris? I thought those details were way too small for any amateur telescope, even a big one. That's wild to hear the coordinates actually lined up with what NASA said, that would mess with my head too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a 20 inch Dobsonian isn't going to show you the actual debris or modules themselves. You're right that those are way too small. What you can see are the bright, rough areas around the landing sites where the engines kicked up dust. It shows up as a tiny, bright patch. But just seeing those patches line up exactly with NASA's coordinates, that's what really hit home for me. Did you ever try looking up the coordinates yourself just to see what the online databases say?
