Finally spotted the Starlink satellite trail on my own last night after everyone swore it was a UFO
Saw 50+ satellites in a perfect line above my barn in rural Vermont around 9:42pm, and now I get why people mix it up with alien craft but why does nobody mention how fast they dim once they hit the shadow?

The tracker app doesn't always account for atmospheric refraction making them appear brighter than usual.

Right! I saw the exact same thing two weeks ago over my pasture in upstate New York and it was creepy how fast they all blinked out. One second they're all bright and crystal clear, next second poof gone like someone flipped a switch on the whole train. My neighbor was convinced it was aliens until I showed him the tracker app on my phone. What gets me is how perfectly spaced they are too, like you could set your watch by them. Makes total sense why people lose their minds over it if they catch it without context.
