Just poured my 500th yard of foundation work and it hit different than I expected
Never thought I'd care about hitting a round number like that but something about looking back at 500 measured pours made me wonder how much of this trade is just showing up versus actual skill, has anyone else hit a milestone that changed how they see their own work?

357th pour was the one that made me realize concrete just flows different when you stop overthinking it.

Bro that's exactly what I found too! For me it was around pour #280 when I finally stopped trying to make everything perfect and just went with the flow. I started using less water and letting the concrete settle on its own instead of messing with it constantly. Totally changed my results. I still catch myself overcomplicating stuff sometimes but then I just remind myself to chill and let the mix do its thing.
