I finally gave in and tried that 'thermal paste spreader' tool after laughing at it for years, and now I'm using it on every single desktop build because it cut my paste application time in half and gave me perfect, even coverage every time, which is a huge deal when you're doing 5 or 6 builds a day.

I was totally convinced it was a gimmick for people who watched too many YouTube videos, but after a colleague in Phoenix swore by it and I tried one on a tricky Threadripper job last week, the results were so consistent that I had to admit I was wrong, so what other 'silly' tools have you guys reluctantly adopted that actually work?

My buddy said the same about those magnetic screw trays.

Totally get that. Felt the same way about those little plastic pry tools for opening up laptops. Thought they were pointless until I stopped leaving screwdriver marks on every case.
