A job in the Gulf last month where the water was so clear it felt like flying
We were doing a hull survey on a rig 80 miles out, and the vis was easily 150 feet, which I haven't seen in that area since maybe 2010. I spent half the shift just looking at the structure, no silt at all, and my tender said I was grinning like an idiot through the whole comms check. When was the last time you had a dive that just felt easy and good like that?

Man, that kind of clarity changes everything. You start noticing the little stuff you always miss, like how the weld beads look perfect under all that light, or individual fish hiding in the cross-bracing. It stops being a job and just feels like floating around in the biggest, quietest aquarium ever built. Those are the days that remind you why you put up with all the bad viz and cold currents.

Yeah, bettyhunt gets it. Those clear days are the only thing that makes the other ninety percent worth it. You hold onto those moments.
