My LCS owner says variant covers got him 40 new pull list subs in 3 months, but my buddy quit buying floppies over them
Stopped by the shop on 4th in Olympia yesterday and the owner showed me his sub numbers, up 40 since he started pushing variants in January. My buddy says he dropped all his single issues because he felt like he was paying $9 for art he did not even want, and he just waits for trades now. Which side are you on, do variants bring in new readers or just squeeze the same people harder?

Variants keep the lights on, haters just mad about art.
