The pour-over kettle that cost me 6 months of bad coffee

Ngl, I thought my gooseneck kettle was fine, but the spout was actually pouring too fast and uneven. It took me until month 4 to realize the water temp was dropping 10 degrees between the boil and my pour, which killed the bloom every time. I ended up timing my pours and testing with a cheap thermometer, and the fix was just slowing down to a 30 second pour instead of 15. Has anyone else had a kettle that seemed fine but was secretly sabotaging their brew?
