Showerthought: I saw a cafe in Seattle charge $8 for a plain black coffee and it made me wonder if we're pricing out new enthusiasts.
On one hand, that cost covers high quality beans and skilled labor, but on the other, does a price tag that steep make people think good coffee isn't for them?

So @the_daniel, is it the skill or just the vibe?

Brew your own to see what good beans really cost.

Honestly @the_daniel, that's the real truth right there. Brewing your own coffee shows you the price floor for quality. It makes you wonder what you're actually paying for at a shop. Is it just the beans and labor, or mostly the rent and the fancy cups. Once you know the cost of good beans, those five dollar lattes start to feel like a choice, not a given.
