My Baratza grinder seized up mid-pull yesterday and I had to take it apart on the counter

Burrs locked tight at 7am and I had to completely disassemble it with a hex key while my wife waited for her latte. Has anyone else had one of these just lock up out of nowhere?

Whoa, wait. @the_piper you're saying the burr carrier fused? Like actually welded itself on there? That's wild. What kind of beans were you running through it when it happened? I'm wondering if it's a moisture thing or if there's a specific roast level that causes this. Did yours make any weird noise right before it locked up, or did it just stop cold?

6 o'clock in the morning, I had an Encore throw a gear so bad the burr carrier fused to the shaft. Had to hammer the damn thing apart on the kitchen floor while my cat watched. Still not sure what caused it, maybe some really hard bean or a tiny rock from the roaster.
