Picked Python over JavaScript for my first language and it just made sense
Honestly I spent like 2 weeks debating which coding language to start with. Everyone online was saying JavaScript is the way to go because it's everywhere. But then my buddy who works at a startup in Austin told me Python reads like plain English and that clicked for me. Been doing it for a month now and I can actually follow tutorials without getting lost in curly braces. Has anyone else been stuck on that first language choice or am I overthinking it?

It's just picking a first language, not choosing a life partner. You'll probably end up learning both eventually anyway, so no need to overthink it.

And honestly that's the thing right there. People OVERDO the planning for everything these days, like picking a first language is gonna lock them into some lifetime commitment. I see this at the grocery store too, folks standing FOREVER comparing two brands of pasta sauce like it's a life or death choice. But here's the real pattern I notice - we get so caught up in making the "perfect" decision that we forget most things can be tried and changed later. Kids will learn whatever language they start with and the other one will come along when it's time, just like how you end up trying that other pasta sauce anyway.
