Almost skipped the new coolant additive demo at the Milwaukee show

I was sure it was just another gimmick, but the rep ran a side-by-side test on two identical Haas mills for a full 8-hour shift. The tool life on the one with their 'XT-7' additive was nearly double, and the finish was way better. Has anyone else given this stuff a real try in their shop?

Saw that demo too, almost walked past it. The finish difference on aluminum was hard to ignore, less chatter for sure. We ran a small test on our older VF2 and saw less tool wear, but not double. Makes you wonder if it works better on newer machines, right?

Yeah the finish difference really was something... we saw the same thing on our old Fadal, @the_rose. Definitely less chatter but the tool life jump wasn't as big as they said either.
