Found a 1930s newspaper stuffed in a flue near Albany
It was a slow Tuesday cleaning a farmhouse chimney, and the pages were perfectly preserved behind some old mortar droppings. Reading about a local baseball game from ninety years ago while covered in soot just hit different, you know? Ever pull something truly weird out of a chimney?

Actually, that's a flue liner. The flue is the whole passage. The liner is the clay or metal pipe inside it. Cool find though. Those old newspapers were used as insulation all the time. Always check for old coins behind them.

Umaprice is right about the coins, my cousin found a silver dime behind some old wall paper once. Those old papers are like a time capsule, makes you wonder what else gets sealed away. Chimneys must hide more history than most attics.
