Just realized my knife skills have been holding me back for years

I was prepping onions for a big batch of soup and it took forever. Watched a quick tutorial on the rock chop method and cut my time in half. Has anyone else had a lightbulb moment with basic techniques like this?

My friend Carla always struggled with dicing vegetables for her weekly meal prep. She watched a video on proper knife grip and suddenly her chopping speed doubled. It's amazing how one small change can make such a big difference.

Yeah, @troyp37, that reminds me of my cousin who used to slice everything with a dull knife. Finally got a decent one sharpened and it was like watching a different person cook.

That thing about grip changing everything is so true. I mean, once I stopped holding the knife like a baseball bat and actually pinched the blade, I stopped getting that wrist fatigue halfway through a big prep. It sort of forces your whole arm to move more efficiently with the rocking chop they talked about.
