Why does nobody talk about using a metal spatula on a seasoned pan?

I was convinced it would ruin the finish, but after 3 months of scraping with a fish turner, my seasoning is actually smoother. Anyone else find the 'no metal' rule is overblown?

What about the sound though, that screech?

Right? That sound is everywhere now. It's like every cheap plastic thing from kids toys to kitchen gadgets makes that same awful noise. Feels like companies just don't care how annoying it is as long as the product is loud enough to get your attention. Makes you miss when stuff was just quiet.
