My DIY wall rack solved my cast iron storage headache

I'm really happy about a small win I had last weekend. My cast iron pans were always stacked in a cabinet, which made them hard to get and could hurt the seasoning. I took some old wood and hooks to build a simple rack on the wall. I set it up so my 12-inch skillet and Dutch oven hang without touching. Now after I clean them, they air dry properly, which is good for the cast iron. It was a quick project that makes my kitchen feel more organized. Having them all in one spot makes cooking easier and keeps the pans in better shape.

Forget dust, that kitchen grime will wreck your seasoning over time.

Admit my wall rack turned into a grease magnet. Honestly, I spent more time cleaning pans than cooking with them. Ngl, stacking them away saved my sanity.

Worry that wall rack is actually worse for your pans. Grease splatter from cooking builds up on them when they're exposed, makes a sticky mess. Dust and kitchen grime settles on them too, which you then have to wash off before using. Honestly, it just looks cluttered having all that heavy iron on display. Tbh, stacking them in a cabinet with felt pads between was cleaner and safer.
